Job summary

IU Health is seeking a Part-Time Night Patient Care Technician (PCA) to deliver compassionate bedside care and support to patients. You will help with meals, drinks, walking, baths, and linens, while ensuring comfort and safety for those in your care.

You will assist the bedside RN by obtaining vital signs and promptly reporting any changes in patient condition. A strong team mindset, effective communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires current Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Knowledge of care appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients.
• Ability to perform patient care activities safely and effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide drinks, assist with meals, walking, baths, and linen changes.
• Assist bedside RN by obtaining vital signs and reporting changes.
• Maintain patient safety using gait belts and alarms, staying within reach.
• Manage interruptions and prioritize tasks in a busy clinical environment.
