Job summary

IU Health is seeking a Part-Time Day Patient Care Technician (PCA) to provide compassionate bedside care, including helping with drinks, meals, walking encouragement, baths, and linen changes. You will support the bedside RN by obtaining vital signs and reporting changes promptly.

You will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, following safety protocols with gait belts and alarms, staying within arm's reach to ensure patient safety, and delivering excellent patient experiences every day.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support certification through the AHA or completion of IU Health PCA program.
• Ability to care for patients across age groups.
• Up-to-date knowledge of patient care procedures and standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a high workload and stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily patient care tasks such as meals, hydration, mobility, and linen changes.
• Obtain vital signs and report abnormalities to the RN.
• Follow safety protocols to prevent injuries and infections.
• Support the care team in a fast-paced hospital setting.
