Job summary

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority seeks a Deputy Director of Facilities & Structures for the overnight shift (10pm–6am, Sun–Thu). You will oversee complex maintenance projects across the Division of Stations, Facilities & Structures, guiding supervisors and trade staff from planning to execution.

You’ll drive data-driven maintenance priorities, monitor preventive tasks, and ensure regulatory and safety compliance while coordinating with senior leaders and contract administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Eight years of experience in construction supervision, infrastructure maintenance, or project management.
• Four years of experience supervising employees in construction or facility maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license per MBTA policy.
• Ability to manage time and priorities and work with a diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

• Provide planning and direction to area Superintendents, Supervisors, and Forepersons for maintenance projects.
• Support trade crews in deploying resources for repairs and maintenance.
• Develop, review, and prioritize daily/shift work plans and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Adjust work schedules and workforce availability for upcoming tasks.
• Manage execution and document task completion with improvement insights.
• Develop a priority program based on data-driven maintenance needs.
• Communicate maintenance results and department accomplishments through metrics.
• Assist in procurement of professional services and materials contracts.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and MBTA safety standards.
• Monitor corrective actions from audits and corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with Safety Department on OSHA compliance.
