The Safety Lead - Bus Vehicle Maintenance is responsible for investigating incidents related to vehicle maintenance, such as major events and near misses involving employee injuries, infrastructure damage, derailments, or service interruptions. The role involves responding to incidents, gathering documentation, reporting, determining root causes, and collaborating with the Vehicle Maintenance Department to recommend corrective actions to enhance safety policies and procedures.
The Safety Lead will work closely with the Vehicle Maintenance Department to track safety recommendations, support the implementation of MBTA Safety Programs in compliance with OSHA Standards, and assist with safety audits. Staying updated on new safety laws and regulations and recommending necessary changes to MBTA Safety management is also a key responsibility.
