Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Part Time Nights Supervisor of Patient Care to manage nursing operations and patient care delivery across units during nights. The role collaborates with the Transfer Center for patient placement and throughput, responds to emergencies and codes, and may serve as Incident Commander when needed.

The ideal candidate has BSN, Ohio RN licensure, BLS, and at least 3 years of nursing and supervisory experience in healthcare, with strong MS Office skills to

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN required.
• Current Ohio RN license.
• BLS certification required; PALS/NRP/ACLS/TNCC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand the business, financials, patient needs and organizational strategy.
• Support nursing staff to ensure adherence to patient care protocols and quality standards.
• Assist in monitoring department budget and expenditure controls.
• Promote quality care by supporting nursing staff during assigned shifts.
• Visit units to assess patient conditions, evaluate staffing, and provide support to caregivers.
• Communicate with Nursing Management about circumstances impacting patients, staff or hospital.
• Assist in decision-making and notify the Administrator on call when necessary.
• Collaborate with nursing and hospital staff to maintain operational aspects of patient care units.
