Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital seeks a Staff Nurse for 24 hours per week, night shift 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, on site in Akron, OH. The role requires a BSN (or progress toward) and active Ohio RN licensure with BLS certification.

You will provide comprehensive nursing care, lead patient-centered activities and participate in quality and safety initiatives within a collaborative team. Experience in healthcare and proficiency with EMR systems (EPIC) and MS Office preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required or to be obtained within 5 years of hire.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Licensed RN in Ohio required.
• Typically 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• No supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care with a family-centered approach.
• Provide care across physical, psychosocial, educational and safety needs.
• Lead and perform professional duties within the unit.
• Deliver patient-centered care and ensure safety.
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
• Assist with staff education and precept new employees.
• Engage in evidence-based practice activities.
• Support providers and promote collaboration for quality care.
• Use informatics and technology effectively in daily tasks.
• Be adaptable to temporary area assignments across Akron Children's Hospital.
• Perform other duties as required.
