Job summary

Cox Automotive – USA is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II (DOT) to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment and document work using our TRAIT app.

This night shift role (9:00 pm–5:00 am) offers weekly pay, company benefits, and a path for advancement. A valid DOT card and driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.
• This position follows DOT/FMCSA regulations and requires DOT compliance.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and, if applicable, a DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine electronics, and other truck systems.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using hand tools and test instruments.
• Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
• Independently manage parts inventory and maintain the company-issued service truck.
• Document work and upload photos using iOS TRAIT app and complete DOT forms in a timely fashion.
• Obtain parts from approved vendors and communicate estimates for approvals.
