Job summary

Emerus Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Medical Technologist/POC/MLS for the Night Shift at a 20-bed small-format hospital. The role covers laboratory testing, specimen collection, and direct patient care within licensed scope.

A BLS cert is required, with market-specific experiences including Pennsylvania duties and clearances. Candidates should have a biology/MLS degree and be prepared for travel to multiple facility locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biological/Physical Sciences or Medical Laboratory Science is required.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
• Pennsylvania Market: minimum of 6 years core lab experience (years counted from Medical Laboratory Courses).
• Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance) and Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) completed within the last 5 years or must be obtained prior to start date.

Responsibilities

• Performs tasks, duties and/or complex tests in all areas of the laboratory according to established protocols to ensure compliance with regulations and hospital standards.
• Collects and processes specimens using established protocols and technical knowledge.
• Performs quality control, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting to ensure proper instrument function.
• Validates and delivers results and assists with QA issues.
• Travel to all facility locations as required.
• Assist with patient care within the scope of state license/regulations, including phlebotomy, IV starts, EKGs, vital signs and other duties.
