Job summary

WellSpan Neighborhood Hospital in Etters, PA seeks a Medical Technologist/POC for night shifts on a PRN basis. The candidate will perform complex tests across laboratory areas, ensure regulatory compliance, and support pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic workflows with a focus on accuracy and safety.

Required is a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science and current BLS certification, with strong core lab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biological/Physical Sciences or Medical Laboratory Science, required.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, required.
• Minimum of 6 years core lab experience in the PA market, required.
• Act 33 and Act 73 clearances completed within the last 5 years, or obtained before start date.
• Experience with IV starts, phlebotomy and initiation of EKG is a plus; training provided after hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs tasks and complex tests in laboratory areas per protocols to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collects and processes specimens using established procedures.
• Performs quality control, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of instruments.
• Validates and delivers test results and addresses QA issues.
• Maintain safety, biohazard control, infection control, and documentation.
• Coordinate pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic lab activities with leadership.
• Assist with patient care activities within state licensing scope; may include phlebotomy and EKG.
• Travel to facility locations as required and participate in staff meetings.
