Job summary

Advocate Health in the United States is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for a 24-hour-per-week float pool. The position requires 2 x 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a) and potential floating to multiple Union-area units within Atrium Health Union, Union West, and Anson.

The RN will engage in care planning, implement and evaluate nursing care, ensure patient safety, and participate in professional development and quality initiatives. A BSN is preferred and BLS/Compact license is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with multi-state compact or single-state privileges.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance and quality initiatives to improve care.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement and evaluate care with patient/family involvement.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans and collaborates with the care team.
• Upholds a culture of safety and high-quality care.
• May administer medications and therapies per protocol.
• Demonstrates effective communication, feedback and delegation.
• Participates in ongoing professional development and maintains certifications.
• Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics and supports interdisciplinary patient care.
• Delegates appropriately to RNs, LPNs and medical assistants.
• Maintains accurate EHR documentation.
• May float to other units to meet patient care needs.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care and growth/development considerations.
