Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time registered nurse for the Union area Nursing Float Pool. The role involves 24 hours per week across 2 x 12-hour shifts (7a–7p) with every-other weekend, and mandatory float to designated facilities within the service area.

Ideal candidates have a BSN or are BSN-prepared and hold an active RN license with BLS. The position requires strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active, unrestricted RN license with privileges to practice in the applicable state(s).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; other certifications may be required by specialty.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Engage in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Utilize nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care, engaging patients and families.
• Monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, mobilize resources, and collaborate with the care team.
• Uphold a culture of safety and maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies per protocols, and delegate appropriately.
