Job summary

Piedmont Eastside Medical Center is seeking a Paramedic for the Emergency Department. This full-time night position involves working under the supervision of RNs and physicians to deliver age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care in a 38-bed ED that handles about 160 patients daily and includes stroke and STEMI capabilities.

Responsibilities include performing EKGs, Foley insertions, starting IVs/IOs, blood draws, and patient transport, with requirements for BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or GED required.
• 1 year Paramedic experience preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS required; NIH preferred with timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the ED.
• Perform EKGs, Foley catheters, start IVs/IOs and draw blood.
• Transport patients and monitor for arrhythmias as directed.
