Job summary

Piedmont Eastside Medical Center in Georgia seeks a Paramedic for full-time Day shifts in the Emergency Department. The 38-bed ED sees ~160 patients daily and serves as a primary Stroke and STEMI receiving facility with on-site helicopter pads.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required at hire
• ACLS and PALS certifications required (for RNs) or within required timeframe

Responsibilities

• Must have working knowledge of intramuscular, sublingual, oral, rectal, nebulizers, intravenous and IV push medications; understand interactions and anaphylaxis protocol.
• Knowledge of neurological, respiratory, cardiac, GI and trauma assessment.
• Provide safe patient care with age-appropriate and culturally aware needs; respond to direction by RN/physician.
• Perform EKGs.
• Perform Foley catheters.
• Start IVs, IOs and draw blood.
• Transport patients to other departments.
• Monitor patients for arrhythmias and report changes promptly.
• Communicate effectively, work with a team, and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
