Job summary

Piedmont Eastside Medical Center is seeking a Paramedic for full-time day shifts in the Emergency Department. You will join a 38-bed unit that handles about 160 patient visits daily, including stroke and STEMI cases requiring thrombolytics.

Responsibilities include med administration, patient assessment and collaboration with ED staff to ensure timely, high-quality care. Candidates must hold BLS, ACLS, and PALS or obtain within the required timeframe.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year Paramedic experience preferred.
• BCLS/ACLS/PALS certifications required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform intramuscular, sublingual, oral, rectal, nebulizer, IV and IV push meds with knowledge of effects and interactions.
• Assess neurological, respiratory, cardiac, GI and trauma status and respond to changes.
• Provide safe patient care with age-appropriate and culturally aware approaches.
• Perform EKGs, Foley catheters, start IVs/IOs and draw blood.
• Transport patients and monitor for arrhythmias as directed.
