Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an EMS Dispatcher 1 for the MH Central Communication team in New Jersey. The role operates on a night shift within RWJBH Mobile Health (EMS), coordinating resources and responding to emergencies with CAD systems and inter-agency communication.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and relevant certifications. Applicants may undergo medical, drug, or TB tests as part of employment, with benefits supporting health and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider required or obtainable.
• APCO BTC or State approved equivalent within 90 days.
• IAED EMD within 90 days.
• ICS-200 within 6 months of employment.
• Must be at least 18 years of age; driver's license on record.
• Background check and drug screening may be required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and dispatch EMS resources to emergency scenes using CAD and approved references.
• Track units through all operation phases: available, posted, enroute, at hospital, and in transit.
• Manage administrative and operational policies for RWJBH EMS communications.
• Answer non-911 lines for ALS requests when volume dictates and perform callbacks.
• Support management with timely, accurate information and incident disposition.
