Job summary

Atlantic Mobile Health in Florham Park, NJ seeks an EMS Dispatcher III for per diem coverage. You will assign ALS and/or BLS resources to meet patient and client needs while ensuring safe, efficient operations through strong communication with field crews.

The dispatcher will use CAD, radio, and multiple screens to coordinate EMS responses, monitor vehicle status, and support mutual aid across North and Central New Jersey. Excellent customer service and attention to detail are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Initiates the transmission of messages using multiple forms of communications in a professional manner.
• Receives all emergency calls requesting Basic Life Support services for municipalities and clients in North and Central New Jersey, including mutual aid requests.
• Receives all emergency calls requesting Advanced Life Support services for Mobile Intensive Care programs and mutual aid requests from other agencies.
• Answers 911 lines and provides call screening and pre-arrival instructions for EMS calls.
• Dispatches units by radio and telephone equipment per established protocols.
• Monitors and records status and location of all vehicles and personnel.
• Coordinates with hospitals to provide information from the scene for large incidents, including patient information per protocols.
• Maintains hospital diversion status with periodic updates when necessary.
• Troubleshoots radio problems and notifies supervisor for assistance.
• Staffs the EMS Communications Unit for scenes and pre-planned events when requested.

Education

High school diploma/GED

911 Officer (BTC) and EMD preferred

Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic preferred
