The Emergency Medical Technician/Dispatcher 2 is responsible for answering and processing emergency, non-emergency and administrative calls in a timely and professional manner. This position is primarily responsible for receiving requests for service, inputting the information into a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, proper classification of calls, deployment of resources utilizing principles of System Status Management and advanced knowledge of service area, selecting and dispatching the appropriate unit(s) to respond to calls and maintaining correct system status control by relocating units post assignments as designated by the System Status Plan. The Dispatcher 2 position is inclusive of the roles and responsibilities of Dispatcher 1 when performing radio duties. Standard of performance is limited to the use of the knowledge, skills and techniques within the NAED EMD Guidelines and in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations and Mobile Health policies.
