Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia seeks an RN Patient Flow Coordinator for the Emergency Department. This full-time night-shift role (7 pm–7 am) focuses on optimizing patient throughput, coordinating bed placement, and ensuring timely patient care across the ED.

You will collaborate with ED staff, bed management, case management, and ancillary teams to maintain high-quality care and patient experience. Requires RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and ED experience.

Qualifications

• Requires RN licensure (Georgia).
• ACLS certification required; BLS through AHA.
• ED/charge nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure care respects patient rights and preferences.
• Coordinate patient flow with ED staff and departments.
• Provide feedback to ED leadership on throughput and safety.
• Routinely round in triage, waiting rooms and patient rooms.
• Act as liaison between Bed Management, ED providers, nursing, case management and support services.
• Organize work environment to maximize unit outcomes and throughput.
• Lead and communicate with the ED team to prioritize patient placement.
• Monitor ED board and report throughput performance to teams.
• Adhere to regulatory standards and department policies.
