Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Georgia seeks a Patient Flow Coordinator (RN) for the Emergency Department. This full-time night shift position (7 pm – 7 am) includes weekend premier differential and focuses on optimizing patient throughput and experience.

The role requires an RN with an associate degree (bachelor's preferred), BLS, ACLS, and active RN license. Strong communication and team leadership skills are essential to coordinate care, bed management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Registered Nurse License required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure care respects patient rights, preferences and expectations.
• Participate in policy and process formulation affecting patient flow goals.
• Provide objective staff performance feedback to ED leadership.
• Routinely round in triage, waiting rooms and patient rooms to oversee patient flow.
• Serve as liaison between Bed Management, ED providers, nursing, and other departments for timely patient placement.
• Coordinate patient flow into and out of the ED to achieve unit outcomes.
• Supervise patient placement and flow with clear leadership and prioritization.
• Focus on patient throughput and patient experience; monitor ED tracking board.
• Provide regular throughput feedback to the ED team via huddles and reports.
• Evaluate healthcare delivery processes relating to patient arrival and care path.
• Participate in performance improvement projects and committees.
