Job summary

Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA seeks an Emergency Department Command Center Tech for FT Nights. You will manage communications with prehospital providers and coordinate hospital response under the direction of the ED Patient Flow Coordinator and EMS Coordinator.

The role focuses on EMS liaison, bed coordination, and real-time patient flow management, requiring clear communication, situational awareness, and the ability to multitask in a high-stress ED environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in the pre-hospital arena or emergency department.
• Certification in BLS and EMT at hire or required upon hire.
• Experience with EMS communications and hospital ED operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with EMS agencies, Fire Departments and Police.
• Document EMS communications in the designated system and relay requests to the ED physician.
• Notify Patient Flow Coordinator when pre-hospital patients require a hospital response.
• Coordinate bed assignment with nursing and manage ED tracking board for EMS patients.
• Enter EMS data into the electronic medical record and manage diversion/status updates.
• Complete logs and assist ED leadership with EMS call data.
