Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Dock Worker responsible for efficiently loading and unloading freight, ensuring correct items are placed on the right trucks.

Safety is paramount as you operate forklifts and manual handling techniques to move materials across the service center. The role requires handling shipments, reading labels, and using the dock yard management system to track freight locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with safe, efficient lifting and transporting procedures.
• Familiarity with freight forms and using yard management systems.
• Ability to operate hand-held tablet and forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers with forklifts or manually in compliance with DOT.
• Apply loading techniques such as tight loading and cross loading.
• Transport freight throughout the service center and ensure accurate placement.
• Secure freight inside trailers using straps and airbags.
• Read shipping labels and complete freight movement forms as needed.
• Monitor shipment locations with the dock yard management system.
