Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Dockworker to efficiently load and unload freight and support warehouse operations. Safety is paramount as you use forklifts and manual handling techniques to move goods and secure them for delivery.

The role emphasizes accuracy in placing items on trucks, reading shipping labels, and adhering to DOT guidelines. A strong work ethic and team orientation are essential to keep OD promises and service levels.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Knowledge of safe and efficient lifting and transporting procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and freight forms.
• Familiarity with dock yard management systems and related forms.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using a forklift, pallet jack or manually.
• Transport freight within the service center on non-forgiving surfaces.
• Monitor freight shipment locations with the Dock Yard Management System.
• Read and interpret shipping labels and freight movement forms.
• Hand load, rewrap or stack freight as necessary and secure it for transit.
