Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Dockworker to help load and unload freight safely and efficiently. You will assist with warehouse operations, operate forklifts and pallet jacks, and ensure freight is secured and documented correctly.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork to uphold OD's promise of reliable delivery. Candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and comply with DOT guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to safely lift and transport freight and follow DOT guidelines.
• Familiarity with freight paperwork and forms (shipping orders, manifests, freight bills).
• Able to operate a handheld tablet and warehouse equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using a forklift, pallet jack, or by hand.
• Apply proper loading techniques and secure freight with straps or airbags.
• Move through the service center and monitor freight locations using the Dock Yard Management System.
• Read shipping labels and complete freight paperwork as required.
• Ensure quality loading and safe handling of all trailers.
