Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Dockworker to efficiently load and unload freight, using forklifts and manual methods while ensuring correct item placement on trucks.

Safety is paramount as you handle materials, secure freight, and maintain accurate documentation. The role involves reading labels, using the dock yard management system, and performing various forms related to freight movement.

Qualifications

• Must understand safe and efficient lifting and transporting procedures.
• Familiar with freight documentation and forms.
• Able to meet schedule and operate a forklift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using a motorized forklift or manually.
• Use loading techniques such as tight or cross loading.
• Transport self and freight around the service center on non-forgiving surfaces.
• Monitor shipment locations via the Dock Yard Management System.
• Read and interpret shipping labels and related freight documents.
• Ensure secure loading of all trailers and proper use of straps, airbags, and cardboard.
• Perform duties with safety and accuracy in line with DOT guidelines.
