Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is hiring a Dockworker to safely load and unload freight, using forklifts and manual handling. You will follow DOT guidelines and secure cargo to prevent damage while ensuring on-time deliveries.

A strong work ethic and team orientation are essential for our busy service centers. Candidates should be able to read labels, operate yard management tools, and work with various shipping documents.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent demonstrated.
• Must understand safe lifting and transport procedures.
• Familiar with freight movement forms and shippers' docs.
• Ability to monitor shipment locations via yard system.
• Ability to operate forklift equipment and handheld devices.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using forklift, pallet jack, or manual methods following DOT rules.
• Apply proper loading techniques and secure freight inside trailers with straps or airbags.
• Move between service center areas and monitor shipments with yard system.
• Read shipping labels and handle freight documents and manifests.
• Ensure accurate and safe loading for reliable deliveries.
