Sheridan is hiring a Baler Technician for the 12-hour night shift to help keep production moving at our facility. You will operate recycling equipment, bale paper by‑products, and transport finished bales with pallet jacks and forklifts while maintaining accurate weight records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; basic math skills and accurate record-keeping are essential.
• Ability to read and follow written work instructions and safety procedures.
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in operating equipment; dependable and safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Operate recycling equipment to shred, compress, and bale paper by-products.
• Thread and secure tie bands around completed bales.
• Move finished bales to storage using pallet jacks, hoists, or forklifts.
• Record bale weights and material grades accurately.
• Perform daily forklift inspections and complete equipment checklists.
• Conduct routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor maintenance on baling equipment.
• Clear paper obstructions from cyclone system as needed.
• Assist with loading bales for shipment and prepare shipping docs.
• Photograph containers and seals for shipment verification when required.
• Follow safe work practices within a collaborative team environment.
