Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based hearing screens for newborns, provide parent education, and ensure timely documentation on shift.

On-site training and annual American Academy of Audiology certification are provided; candidates should have a high school diploma, CPR certification, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with CPR certification or ability to obtain upon offer.
• Excellent communication and ability to educate parents about screenings.
• Flexibility to work weekends and national holidays.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate each patient for screen readiness (fed, quiet, calm) before screening.
• Collect demographics, perform hearing screen, and document results accurately.
• Educate parents on the relevance of screens and early intervention.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed or refer babies and reconcile data.
• Schedule outpatient appointments for referred babies when appropriate.
• Follow safety, PPE, vaccination, and compliance requirements; minimize time in room.
