Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital on-site hearing screens for newborns, providing parent education and ensuring accurate data entry. The role includes onboarding through an American Academy of Audiology-certified program and flexible weekend/holiday coverage.

Responsibilities include screening readiness, data collection, and timely upload of results and scheduling of outpatient appointments when needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Current CPR Certification or must obtain upon offer.
Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required

Responsibilities

Screen newborns and educate parents on the relevance of hearing screens and the importance of early intervention.
Evaluate each patient for screen readiness prior to performing a screen.
Collect all necessary data for each baby and perform the hearing screen during each shift; ensure documentation is followed.
Provide care and support to screened babies and families.
Upload screen results, billing, and state reporting by shift end and reconcile statistics.
Carry out screens efficiently while maintaining quality and patient education/satisfaction.
Notify Site Supervisor of missed and final refer babies; schedule outpatient appointments for refer babies.
