Job summary

Women's Health Arizona seeks a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform newborn hearing screenings for infants prior to discharge, following Joint Committee on Infant Hearing guidelines and using AABR-certified equipment.

You will inform parents, document results, and collaborate with hospital staff to ensure continuity of care while adhering to HIPAA and safety standards. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• NCHAM Certification required before start date.
• Experience in hospital or patient-care settings preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with parents and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screenings on both ears using AABR-certified equipment.
• Conduct initial screenings and rescreens as required per protocol.
• Obtain informed consent from parents prior to screening.
• Provide parents with written results and answers to questions about the screening process.
• Document results in EMR and/or state reporting portal and maintain logs.
