Job summary

Tucson Medical Center is seeking a Hearing Technician to administer automated newborn hearing screenings in the NICU and Mom/Baby units. You will educate parents about the screening process and help coordinate follow-up services as needed.

The role requires a High School Degree and BLS certification, with no prior experience required. You will work with the TMCH audiology team to schedule follow-up tests and maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; no experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Knowledge of newborn hearing screening processes is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Administers automated hearing screening testing.
• Ensures supplies are available daily.
• Communicates with nursing teams before testing to ensure appropriateness.
• Documents test results in patient records as required.
• Cleans equipment per manufacturer instructions.
• Educates parents on what to expect from screening procedure.
• Coordinates with other service areas to ensure proper patient care.
