Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform in-hospital hearing screens after birth and educate families on results and next steps. On-site at one or more hospital locations, you will receive on-the-job training and annual American Academy of Audiology-certified certification.

The role emphasizes accurate data collection, patient safety, and efficient screen processing while maintaining compassionate care for families during a critical development milestone.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification or obtain upon offer.
• Willingness to work weekends and national holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens and educate parents on results and importance of early intervention.
• Ensure screen readiness and conduct screens with appropriate patient state.
• Collect data for each baby and document per protocol.
• Provide respectful care to families during the screening process.
• Upload results and state reporting by end of shift and reconcile stats.
• Keep screens efficient without compromising quality or education.
• Inform supervisor of missed or referred babies and arrange follow-up.
• Schedule outpatient referrals when needed.
