Role involves screen readiness assessment, data collection, and efficient workflow to balance patient interaction with accurate documentation. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work weekends and national holidays required.
• One to three months of prior experience with newborns and in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens and educate parents on screening relevance.
• Comply with PPE, safety protocols, hospital orientations and compliance modules.
• Assess screen readiness before testing; ensure reliable results.
• Collect baby demographics and perform screens during each shift; document data accurately.
• Educate families about results and next steps; coordinate outpatient appointments for refer babies.
• Notify supervisor of missed and referred babies; trend and reconcile screen statistics.
