Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based hearing screens for newborns and to educate families on early intervention. You will work on-site at one or more hospital locations, with on-the-job training and annual American Academy of Audiology certification.

You will ensure screen readiness, collect data, document results, and coordinate follow-up as needed, while maintaining patient confidentiality and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification or obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work weekends and national holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform hearing screens and educate parents on the importance of early intervention.
• Ensure patient readiness before screening (fed, quiet, calm).
• Collect data and demographics; document screening results in the system.
• Upload results and maintain state reporting by end of shift.
• Notify supervisor of missed or final refer cases.
• Schedule outpatient follow-up for referred babies when appropriate.
