Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking an entry-level Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based hearing screens for newborns. The role includes on-the-job training, annual American Academy of Audiology-certified training, and educating families about the importance of newborn hearing screening.

Work is on-site at hospital locations with responsibilities spanning data collection, screening, education, and coordinating follow-up care as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification or able to obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate each patient for screen readiness before performing a screen.
• Collect demographics and perform hearing screens on all eligible babies during each shift; ensure documentation.
• Provide education to parents about the relevance of the screen and early intervention.
• Upload screen results and billing data by end of shift and reconcile stats.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed and refer babies; schedule outpatient appointments when needed.
