Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking an entry-level Hearing Screen Technician to perform newborn hearing screens at hospital sites in the Jacksonville area. You will conduct screens after birth, provide parent education, and ensure complete documentation and data entry while following safety protocols.

The role includes on-site hospital work with on-the-job training and annual certification by the American Academy of Audiology.

Qualifications

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to prioritize daily tasks and assignments.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required.

Responsibilities

Screen newborns for hearing loss and educate parents on importance of early intervention.
Ensure PPE and safety protocols are followed.
Assess each baby for screen readiness before testing and perform screens.
Accurately collect data and complete documentation for each screen.
Upload results and billing information by end of shift and reconcile statistics.
Schedule outpatient appointments for refer babies when indicated.
Report missed or refer babies to Site Supervisor.
