Job summary

Texas Oncology in Dallas Sammons Cancer Center is seeking a New Patient Coordinator to be the first point of contact for patients beginning their cancer care journey.

You will collaborate with revenue cycle, clinical, and operational teams to ensure timely access to care, accurate patient records, and HIPAA compliance. This is a full-time, onsite role requiring strong communication and Office/Excel skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years revenue cycle or patient access experience in healthcare preferred.
• Experience with PMS and EHR platforms; proficiency in medical terminology and insurance verification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee new patient referral process within department standards.
• Provide strong customer service to patients and stakeholders as the clinic’s first contact.
• Independently assess patient needs to prioritize and triage referrals.
• Answer phone calls, take messages and respond to routine inquiries.
• Verify and register patient accounts; schedule exams and procedures.
