Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a New Grad Registered Nurse for Progressive Care (Step down) at St. Charles Hospital. The role focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care, coordinating with an interdisciplinary team, and building a strong foundation for patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include assessments, care planning, and medication administration, with emphasis on patient safety and continuous improvement. A BSN is preferred; RN licensure is required, and ACLS/BLS certification is considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred, not required).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or RN applicant.
• BLS or ACLS (preferred at hire; ACLS within 6 months).
• Experience as LPN or Patient Care Tech/CNA (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment, plan of care, treatment, and evaluation of effectiveness.
• Serve as point of contact for patients' care coordination across hospital departments.
• Act as patient safety advocate by participating in quality improvement.
• Administer medications safely per policies and state practice.
• Other duties as assigned.
