Qualifications

• Graduate of a formal Medical Assisting program accredited by CAAHEP.
• Two years of experience in a medical clinic.

Responsibilities

• Register new patients in the system with accurate demographic and insurance information.
• Ensure physician has access to all initial notes, labs, radiology, and pathology reports.
• Answer phone calls, triage inquiries, and direct callers to appropriate staff.
• Schedule and update appointments in the computerized scheduler.
• Coordinate physician schedules with clinical and surgical timetables.
• Assist Medical Assistants and Practice Coordinators as needed.
• Obtain authorizations from insurance carriers for services.
• Enter appointments into Centricity and physicians' Outlook calendars.
• Prepare and run clinics and schedule outpatient testing.
• Make reminder calls to patients and greet visitors.
• Maintain patient records and update as needed.
• Coordinate referrals and billing documentation.
