Job summary

Qualifications

• Eligible for licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois.
• Current BLS/CPR and/or other required unit-specific certifications.
• Current ACLS certification, or within 6 months of hire.
• Effective communication skills with patients, families, and health care providers.
• Intermediate computer skills with the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Excellent attendance and work history.

Responsibilities

• Develops and updates the patient’s plan of care based on ongoing assessment.
• Collaborates with the health care team to promote effective patient care.
• Verifies and implements orders from physicians and documents in the EHR.
• Engages with patients and families to develop educational plans.
• Recognizes symptoms, sets priorities, and responds to changing needs.
• Supports staff and delegates tasks per state nurse practice act.
• Advocates for patients, families, and the nursing profession.
• Performs high quality patient care and participates in shared leadership.
