Job summary

Qualifications

• Eligibility for licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois.
• Current AHA BLS/CPR and other required unit-specific certifications.

Responsibilities

• Completes orientation program and unit-specific competencies.
• Develops and updates the patient’s plan of care based on ongoing assessment and input from family.
• Collaborates with health care team to promote effective patient care.
• Verifies and implements orders and documents in the EMR as prescribed by providers.
• Engages patient and family to develop an appropriate educational plan.
• Recognizes symptoms, sets priorities, and responds to changing patient needs.
• Delegates tasks per the Illinois Nurse Practice Act and supports the team.
• Upholds UI Health values through teamwork, communication, and quality patient care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
