This 100% onsite role supports a 24-bed neuro unit, with nights 7pm-7:30am, based at the Hyde Park campus. RN license in Illinois and AHA BLS are required. ADN nurses must pursue BSN, with full tuition reimbursement; BSN preferred, ICU experience valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Illinois RN license.
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• ADN nurses must enroll in a BSN program within six (6) to nine (9) months of hire, and complete BSN within 30 months. ADN nurses receive 100% tuition reimbursement toward a BSN degree.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes appropriate assessment skills to determine patient needs.
• Develops a plan of care for patients whose needs do not require the expertise of a Case Manager or collaborates with the Case Manager to develop a plan of care for specified patients.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned by Care Center Director or Patient Care Manager.
• Provides support to peers by assisting as needed, being a resource person and working as a team member.
• Assists Care Center in development/attainment of goals and objectives.
• Uses clinical pathways and/or plans of care incorporating standards of practice.
• Assesses own need for professional growth and development and seeks appropriate resources to meeting needs.
• Attends continuing education programs and participates in program evaluation.
