Job summary

UI Health in Chicago, IL is hiring Staff Nurse I for the 5SW Stepdown-Medical ICU. The role is 0.6 FTE with a flex night schedule of 2-12hr shifts and rotating weekends.

The Staff Nurse I delivers direct patient care, collaborates with the care team, and supports patient education and outcomes. The position requires IL residency within 180 days, active RN license, BLS/CPR, ACLS preferred, and 1–2 years of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois.
• Graduation from a registered nurse program.
• Current BLS/CPR and/or other required unit specific certifications.
• Current ACLS, or within 6 months of hire for main hospital.
• 1–2 years of RN experience.
• Effective communication with patients, families, and health care providers.
• Proficiency in EHR with on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and updates the patient care plan.
• Collaborates with the health care team to promote patient care.
• Verifies and implements orders and documents in the EMR.
• Develops patient education plans based on needs.
