Job summary

UI Health is seeking a Staff Nurse I in Chicago, IL to deliver patient care within the Neuroscience Center. You will apply the Nursing Process and Relationship-Based Care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to achieve high-quality outcomes.

The role requires Illinois residency within 180 days of hire, an active RN license, BLS/CPR, and at least one year of Neurology experience. Competitive benefits and a supportive work environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Illinois or eligible to practice in Illinois.
• Current BLS/CPR and unit-specific certifications.
• Strong communication and collaboration with care team.
• Ability to use EHR efficiently and document accurately.
• Proven reliability with excellent attendance.
• Neurology experience preferred (1 year).

Responsibilities

• Complete orientation and unit-specific competencies.
• Develop and update patient care plans based on assessments.
• Collaborate with health care team to ensure quality care.
• Verify orders and document in the EMR per provider instructions.
• Engage patients/families to educate and address needs.
• Support nursing governance and Shared Leadership discussions.
