Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join the patient-centered care team in providing direct patient care under RN supervision. You will assist with ADLs, support procedures, and help document care in the health record.

Responsibilities include collecting specimens, taking EKGs, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Prior CNA experience is preferred; CPR and CNA certification are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Completion of an approved nursing assistant certification program required.
• One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to department goals and adheres to policies, procedures, quality and safety standards.
• Assists patients with daily living activities and personal hygiene.
• Collects specimens and obtains EKGs.
• Records intake/output and vital signs.
• Maintains patient comfort, privacy and dignity; assists with examinations and procedures.
• Transports patients for discharges and appointments and supports environmental services.
