Job summary

Blue Water Thinking, LLC is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician – Info/Sys to maintain reliability and safety of networked medical gear in our Seattle-area healthcare facility. You will work with IT and cybersecurity teams, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and support Cerner integration as needed.

The role emphasizes hardware, software, and network aspects, including security, recalls, and training of clinical staff to ensure high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent military training.
• At least three years in hospital or healthcare device maintenance.
• Minimum one year in medical information systems and networking.
• Knowledge of computer virus protection software, patches and upgrades, and information security tools.
• Experience with TCP/IP, networking standards, and network security.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on networked medical equipment to ensure reliability.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions per manufacturer guidelines.
• Inspect new equipment for safety and functionality during incoming inspections.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to maintain medical device security.
• Install, calibrate, and configure medical equipment per manufacturer instructions.
• Address hazard recalls and coordinate with manufacturers for resolution.
• Perform software repairs and updates on medical devices.
• Maintain records using CMMS and other systems.
• Provide training to medical staff on equipment operation.
• Keep up with industry trends and regulations for biomedical equipment.
