Job summary

Blue Water Thinking, LLC is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician – Info/Sys to join our healthcare facility team in Portland, OR. You will maintain the reliability, safety, and cybersecurity of networked medical equipment, including Cerner integrations, with emphasis on preventive and corrective maintenance.

The role requires hospital maintenance experience, knowledge of TCP/IP, HL7, and DICOM, and a commitment to high patient care standards.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree or higher in applied science or military equivalent.
• At least three years hospital or healthcare maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of computer virus protection software and security tools.
• Experience with TCP/IP, HL7, networking, DICOM standards.
• Ability to read schematics and technical literature.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on networked medical equipment to ensure functionality.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions in medical devices per manufacturer guidelines.
• Carry out incoming inspections of new equipment for safety and accuracy.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to implement medical device security protocols.
• Install, calibrate, and configure medical equipment per manufacturer instructions.
• Monitor and address hazard recalls; coordinate with manufacturers for resolution.
• Perform software repairs and updates on medical devices for compatibility and performance.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities using CMMS.
• Provide training to medical staff on proper operation of equipment.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes affecting biomedical equipment.
