Blue Water Thinking seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician – Info/Sys to ensure reliability and safety of networked medical equipment in our Reno healthcare facility. You will handle preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, cybersecurity, and equipment installations, with Cerner experience preferred.

The role emphasizes a strong technical background, patient care standards, and collaboration with IT and clinical teams.

Qualifikationen

• Two-year associate degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent military training.
• At least three years hospital/healthcare experience in medical equipment maintenance; at least one year in medical information systems and networking.
• Knowledge of virus protection software, patches, information security tools, electronics, computers and network theory.
• Experience with TCP/IP, HL7, networking, network security; VLAN configuration, IP addressing, sub-netting; distinguish networking problems from non-networking problems.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and ISO standards.
• Familiarity with network test equipment and tools.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical literature, schematics, and drawings.

Aufgaben

• Perform preventive maintenance on networked medical equipment to ensure functionality and lifespan.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions in medical devices per manufacturer guidelines.
• Carry out incoming inspections of new equipment for safety and functionality.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to implement medical device security protocols.
• Install, calibrate, and configure medical equipment following safety guidelines.
• Address hazard recalls and coordinate with manufacturers and departments.
• Perform software repairs and updates to ensure compatibility with systems.
• Maintain CMMS records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
• Provide technical support and training to medical staff on networked equipment.
• Stay current on biomedical equipment trends, regulations, and best practices.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless equipment operations.
• Experience with Cerner EHR integration preferred.
