Job summary

Blue Water Thinking is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician – Info/Sys to join our Seattle healthcare team. You will maintain and secure networked medical equipment, conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, and support Cerner EHR integrations.

The ideal candidate has hospital tech experience, networking knowledge, and a commitment to patient care. Will collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and clinical staff to ensure safe device operation.

Qualifications

• Experience in a medical center or healthcare environment with biomedical engineering work.
• Experience with medical information systems and networking for at least 3 years.
• Knowledge of computer-virus protection software, patches, upgrades, and information security tools.
• Ability to work with TCP/IP, HL7, networking, DICOM standards and VLANs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on networked medical equipment.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions per manufacturers’ specs.
• Inspect new equipment for safety, functionality, and accuracy.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to maintain device security.
• Install, calibrate, configure, and test medical equipment per guidelines.
• Maintain records in CMMS and provide staff training on equipment use.
