Job summary

Blue Water Thinking is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician – Info/Sys to join our healthcare facility's dynamic team. You will maintain the reliability and safety of networked medical equipment, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, cybersecurity, and Cerner integration.

Responsibilities include device installation, software updates, CMMS recordkeeping, staff training, and collaboration with IT to protect patient data.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent military training.
• Minimum of three years hospital or healthcare experience performing medical equipment maintenance, with at least one year in medical information systems and networking.
• Knowledge of computer virus protection software, patches and upgrades, information security tools, electronics, computers and networking theory.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting networked medical equipment, including TCP/IP, HL7, networking, network security, DICOM standards; VLANs; IP addressing; sub-netting.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on networked medical equipment to ensure functionality and extend lifespan.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions in medical devices following manufacturer guidelines.
• Conduct incoming inspections of new equipment for safety and functionality.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to implement medical device security protocols.
• Install, calibrate, configure, and update medical equipment per manufacturer instructions.
