Job summary

The AES Corporation is seeking a NERC Operations Team Leader to serve as SME on NERC standards, guiding interpretation and adherence across O&M for a large renewable portfolio. You will lead a team of NERC SMEs, coordinate with engineering, IT/OT security, and operations to ensure reliable, compliant performance.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, you will drive audit readiness, manage evidence, and implement controls to strengthen reliability and regulatory compliance across AES

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, or related technical field is required.
• 5+ years in the electric power industry with focus on power generation operations or NERC compliance.
• Strong knowledge of NERC Reliability standards (PRC-xxx, FAC-xxx, EOP-xxx).
• Leadership and communication skills with ability to guide cross-functional teams and manage projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day NERC compliance execution for all AES Clean Energy sites.
• Translate regulatory requirements into executable processes, technical controls, maintenance programs, and audit-ready evidence.
• Lead NERC compliance audits, manage evidence repositories, and support regulatory submissions.
• Mentor the NERC Operations team and drive continuous improvement in compliance practices.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, IT/OT Security, Regulatory Affairs to integrate NERC compliance across asset lifecycles.
